In my obsession over all things skincare, I learned something new about good ol’ epsom salts!
Not just for soothing sore muscles, epsom salts have beauty merit.
Magnesium reduces inflammation. Epsom salts have magnesium in them. I really hadn’t thought much about it before but it makes sense. How the magnesium salts soothe sore muscles is by reducing inflammation.
Big deal, Cherise. Get to the point.
I always get excited about reducing inflammation. Not just because I’m an old lady with tired feet and bad knees. But because inflammation wrecks cells. In your skin. Inflammation ages you.
Epsom salts might be able to help if you’re having a rosacea flush. They might be able to help if you’re trying to clear up a break out. And, they might be able to preserve the youth of your skin.
Some warm water – just warm enough to fully dissolve the epsom salt crystals. Then soak a face cloth and apply repeatedly like a compress.
You can even do this on a sunburn. In theory, it should be able to help.
