Ah, 2020. One for the history books. I see lots of joking about putting it behind us, lighting it on fire, etc. While 2020 may not have been #lifegoals, there is a nice thing about a year being wrapped up – it’s a great time to reflect on who we were and reevaluate our goals.
We can reinvent ourselves. We create ourselves Everyday. Who do you want to be? Maybe more interesting is this question: How do you want to be? What actions or changes to your current actions can move you closer to that?
What I hope is that many people will aim to be a bit more patient, tolerant, and gentler with each other. I hope that many people aim to be a little bit more polite. I feel that, for many people, this slipped in our communications with each other in our challenging 2020. I yearn for a return to manners and moderate emotions.
If you feel like there were some moments in 2020 when you weren’t being your best self, you’re welcome to join me in committing to be a little calmer, a little more patient, a bit more tolerant, polite and moderate. I think it might help us all sleep a little bit better!
Happy, healthy new year!
