Everyone loves a little Spa La La time, including Mums. I never think that taking care of our appearance is selfish or vain. Yes, some people go to excesses, take things too far, and end up actually diminishing their good looks. That happens sometimes. However, I’ve never thought that a pedicure or manicure or a gentle face treatment is vanity or self centered. I class these treats as self care.
I’m big on self care. Big! So many women whom I talk to are stressed. We have so many pressures in our fast paced world as we try to provide all advantages to our loved ones.
Mums often put up with a lot. I see really lovely women get snapped at by their teenagers. Or ignored.
I see Mums that want to spend as much time with their kids as possible because they just love the stuffing out of them. I see those kids, being that age, just want to spend time with their peer group.
And I see Mums agonize over kids that don’t have a peer group to spend time with.
Motherhood isn’t for the faint of heart. We need to nourish and maintain our Mums.
