DIY Skincare: Pumpkin Facial

You’ll look like you smeared your face with baby food but – with a good sense of humor, and with this easy fall themed facial, your skin will feel like a baby’s – smooth and soft.  It’ll feel good and it’ll look great with its anti aging and calming properties.

Whether you use canned pumpkin or you carve one up, hold back 1 slightly rounded teaspoon of pumpkin for your masque.  If you are carving your pumpkin, just like for pie, you’ll want to cook and cool it first.

Add pumpkin to 2 slightly rounded teaspoons of plain Greek yogurt.  Get the regular fat stuff.  Don’t go for zero fat.

Stir and apply to clean, dry face.  Have a chuckle at your appearance then sit and relax for 15 minutes.  Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.

Why is this facial so good?  Yogurt has lactic acid in it.  This is a safe but effective exfoliating ingredients, often used in skincare, derived from dairy.  Yogurt also has good bacteria in it.  That’s why commercials encourage you to eat it in order to have health guts.  I like using Greek yogurt for this masque because it has a thicker consistency and it stays in place on your face better.

Pumpkin is high in Vitamin A.  This is a vegetable version of Retinol.  Retinol is a staple ingredient for aging, discoloration, and acne.

Send me a picture of you wearing this masque and if you’re okay with me posting it on Therapie’s Facebook page, I’ll send you a present.  Happy Thanksgiving!  ~Cherise
