This isn’t a Hot Water Bottle. This is bliss for hot sleepers. This is relief for summer time sleepers, better than air conditioning. This is my (ice) cold water bottle.
When the temperatures get to a point in my non- air conditioned home that my sleep is fitful and disturbed, I fill it up with water and stick it in the freezer. By bed time, it’s become a solid block of sleep cooling ice. I wrap the cold water bottle in a hand towel and plop it in the bed.
When I get into bed, I am laying down on a cool area. I move the water bottle under my knees or ankles. I turn on my side and pull it up against my belly, under my hug pillow. I move it wherever it needs to go. It drops my body temperature quickly but comfortably and I sleep like a (cool) baby. And my husband sleeps as well, since I’m not tossing and turning or prowling, irritated, around the house.
Male or female, the heat of summer or depth of winter. If you sleep hot, I invite you to try this tip and cool down. And if you have a tip for your non-air conditioned brothers and sisters, share it on Therapie’s Facebook page with us.
Sleep cool in solidarity,
